Speaking in a meeting with a group of economic experts and activists of the country on Tuesday, he stated, “Not only any insecurity on the route of energy transit can affect the economy of the region but also it can affect the economy in the world to a great extent.”
Turning to the significance of the Strait of Hormuz in the world’s energy and economic equations, Mokhber underlined that the issue of closing and blocking the Strait of Hormuz by Iran as well as its new legal regime after the termination of war will be considered as the most important economic issues in the country.
Mokhber, who is also a member of the Expediency Discernment Council, emphasized the significance of the security of energy, adding that the energy security has direct relationship with the regional stability.
Iran’s geopolitical situation and significance of the Strait of Hormuz have caused it to give a crushing blow to US aggressor that was once considered as a sanctioning country against Iran, he said, adding that the significance of Strait of Hormuz has changed the energy and economic equations in the world to a great extent.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Mokhber pointed to the energy development at the global market, stating, “Today, the global economy is facing the skyrocketing price of energy and the regional condition can intensify the situation greatly in such a way that there will be a growing price hike of energy both in the short- and long-term.”
